Today was the second of my birthday celebrations … this one was a surprise party thrown by my mom and brother. They tried to outsmart a trickster himself .. but I was already on to there little plan. I kept quiet of course .. I wanted to see how far and how elaborate the lies would become. They had a friend of the family hire me for some walk around magic at their restaurant. At first .. I didn’t think anything of it, business as usual. Then my first clue that something was up .. my brother left a bag full of invitations on the steps, waiting to be mailed. This was back in April .. so I simply put the pieces of the puzzle together. You’ve got to get up pretty early in the morning to .. well you know.
I guess I was more surprised by all the people who showed up … some from hours away. It was great to see family and friends .. and we all enjoyed a fine Italian meal at Cafe Buonaro’s. It was quite a mix of people from all walks of life .. all with one common tie, they were all there because I touched their life in some way .. and thats what life is all about ..
