Thing’s are finally warming up out here … and it seems as if magic is everywhere these days. Last week there was a Magic Flea Market that was very successful. Magicians from the Chicago area set up their tables and cleaned house. It’s kind of like a magic garage sale .. some treasures can be found after sifting through all the junk. I usually have a table but, this year I just went to take a look. I wound up talking with friends the whole time … I really didn’t get to look at much. Here I am with my young friend Magic Jess. She’s currently living in a castle … no joke! What better place for a princess to live.
This week David Letterman is featuring magicians on his show, which is very cool. Years ago he would tear into “Kmarr the Discount Magician.” It was a funny bit but made magicians look pretty pathetic. This time around he’s got some of the top magicians direct from Vegas including Lance Burton and Penn & Teller. I’ll be watching again tonight.
I’m also teaching mini course today at an elementary school near by. The kids really enjoy learning a few tricks to fool their friends. The class is so popular that we’ve got two classes going on. My assistant Angel is teaching the second group. It’s a lot to prepare but I enjoy giving back to the local community.
The past couple weeks flew by. My mother is back from Florida with her friends. She got to relax … and I finally had some time to get some things done for myself. I was surprised at what I could get done in a day without distractions. Right now I’m preparing for a couple of shows we have at the Carol Stream Fest. We’re bringing the big show and that involves a lot of work. We’ll be on the Main Stage at 4:30 and 6:30pm on June 8th. If you live in the area, come out and have a fun time .. I know I will.
